Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the art of Karate and other martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.

Here are a few of Jenkins Martial Arts's instructors and other staff members, starting with Bill Jenkins:

Bill Jenkins  (Head Instructor)
Mr.Jenkins has been a student of the Martial Arts since 1976 and has Trained under some of the Top Masters in the United States Including Scott Calmers,Professor Mark Roberts,,Kevin Gottschalk and Grandmaster David Chi. Mr.Jenkins holds Blackbelts in three different styles of Martial Arts,and is a Top Competitor in The NBL,Gold Cup,GSKA,AMAPA and CKL Sport Karate Leagues. He also serves as President of The United Kwansoo Taekwondo Association and is a Arbitrator for the Bay area sport karate association(BASKA)Mr.Jenkins Holds the 2004 and 2005 GSKI World titles for Korean kata,Japanese/Okinawan kata,Blackbelt fighting and is a 2000 United States Martial Artist Association Hall of Fame inductee.

Trevyn Jenkins  (Instructor 3rd Dan (degree)Blackbelt)
Trevyn Jenkins started his Martial Arts training at age 4 and Earned his first Blackbelt in August of 1999. He currently holds Blackbelts in Taekwondo and Kenpo Karate. Trevyn is in charge of our point fighter program and is team captain of Team JMA. He is also very active in Professional Sport Karate and is The number one rated SH fighter in The AMAPA and Baska sport karate leagues. Trevyn holds 4 consecutive Gold Cup titles in point fighting(1999,2000,2001 2002)

Tory Jenkins  (Certified Instructor Black belt 2nd Dan)
Tory Jenkins started Training in the Martial Arts at age 4 and earned his Blackbelt in September 2003. Tory Heads our Open and extreme Kata program and is a top competitor in many sport karate leagues. He holds 2 consecutive Gold Cup Sparring titles and is Team Captain of our junior Blackbelt fighting team. GO MULE!

Ian Pearson  (Certified Instructor Black belt 3rd Dan)
Ian Pearson has been a student of Jenkins Martial Arts since 2001 and earned his Blackbelt in 2006. Ian is a top Sport Karate competitor and and holds many titles including the 2006 Tigerclaw/Disney World title for Korean kata and 15/17 Black belt sparring, and won the bronze medal for Korean kata at the 2007 NBL World games in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

Samantha Avilla  (Certified Instructor Black belt 2nd Dan)
Sammie Avilla has been a student of JMA since 1998 and earned her Blackbelt in August of 2004.A top competitor in sport karate Sammie holds 3 gold cup titles,2 National NBL titles and a GSKI World title in Korean Kata.Sammie is the JMA demo team captain and a member of JMAs female fighting team.

Anne Ward  (Certified Instructor, Black belt 3rd Dan)
Sensei Anne has been training at JMA since 2005 and holds many world and national sport karate titles including the 2007 open kata and women's sparring titles in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Sabrina Ruskauff  (Certified Instuctor Black belt 2nd Dan)
Sabrina has been training at JMA since 2003 And heads our little tiger program. Sabrina has been a top competitor in pro sport martial arts since 2005 She is also a member of the 2012 state champion team.
